Oil & water
The oil dissolves from the water, and creating cool effects. Try coloring the water for even cooler effect.
Hydrogen peroxide, dish soap & food coloring
Elephant toothpaste - a soapy yeast foaming reaction formula. It causes a rapid breakdown of hydrogen peroxide into oxygen gas and water, and the release of oxygen gas creates a large amount of foam.
Shaving cream, water and food coloring
Storm in a glass - Once too much water gets in the clouds, they get heavy and ultimately the water falls out of the cloud as rain, snow, sleet or hail.
Baking soda & vinegar in a bottle (and a balloon)
Self inflating balloon - It releases carbon dioxide gas, caused by the chemical reaction by mixing the vinegar (acetic acid) with baking soda (sodium bicarbonate).

We also have the Young Stars club, which meets once a week on a Saturday between 10:00 and 13:00 where you will get to explore and experiment with our team of experts.

As a community-driven museum, we want to work with schools to create places of learning and exploring. Our team are on hand to give your students guided tours of the museum, teach them in our learning laboratory, and provide great video presentations that will excite and inspire them.
